In the second quarter of 2024, the fitness and weight loss category on Android saw varied performance among the top apps. Data provided by Sensor Tower offers insight into how these apps fared in terms of downloads, revenue, and active users.

Strava: Run, Bike, Hike, maintained consistent downloads, ranging between 3K and 3.7K, with a slight uptick in the last week of June. Revenue fluctuated, starting at approximately $5.7K in the first week of April and ending with about $3K in late June. Weekly active users saw a general increase, starting at 113K and growing to 118K by the end of the quarter.

Fitia - Diet & Meal Planner experienced a dip in downloads from 7.8K in the first week of April to 2.8K in late May, followed by a rebound to 4.7K towards the end of June. Weekly active users initially stood at 22.8K, decreasing mid-quarter to around 15.5K, and then modestly recovering to 18.2K. The app's revenue showed a similar pattern with a mid-quarter dip and a slight recovery, starting at about $3K and ending at approximately $1.5K.

BetterMe: Health Coaching saw its downloads peak at 7.2K in early April, with a notable decrease to around 3.3K by the end of June. Active users hit a high of 26K in mid-April before falling to 15.8K by the quarter's close. Revenue also followed a declining trend from $2.1K to just over $1.2K.

Freeletics: Fitness Workouts downloads varied, with a high of 2.5K in mid-May and a low of 1K towards the end of June. Active users declined from 8.5K to 6.4K over the quarter. Revenue started at $1.6K and decreased to $920 by the quarter's end.

Finally, Dancefitme: Fun Workouts showed a significant download spike in June, jumping from less than 1K in early April to over 4.1K. Active users also saw a substantial increase from 2.4K to 5.2K in early June, before dropping to 3.6K. Revenue followed a similar pattern, with a peak of $1.7K in mid-June.
